Columbus Restaurant & Cafe

Situated in Banks St. near Alf Leila Wa Leila, Columbus Restaurant and Cafe can be seen from a distance by its large green sign.  “I named it Columbus after Christopher Columbus, the great explorer because just as he explored the sea and unknown land we too explore new cuisine.” – Explained Mr. Walid, owner of Columbus Restaurant and Cafe.  The design of the place is extremely unique and eye-catching (definitely a must see) right down to the wooden tables and chairs that seemed to remind me of the interior of a ship with the paintings of ships on the wall and ship models above the counter, all adding to the effect... The large windows present an excellent spot to watch all the action for an entertaining evening.

Also, the outside terrace with its wooden benches and greenery is the perfect touch, as you are close enough to Alf Leila to catch on the exciting atmosphere but at the same time far away enough to be able to enjoy the evening, in peace if that what you are after. Well, wood definitely seems to be theme here. Upon entering the restaurant you will find that the atmosphere is casual friendly, warm and homely and is evident by the fact that they manage to combine an enjoyable meal or just a comfortable evening to watch the football match.

The cheerful staff members are definitely a great asset to the place with the presence of one member in particular, better known as ‘Happy’ to the satisfied customers because of his jolly and friendly nature. The service at Columbus is excellent and first-rate. Home delivery is also an option, where the delivery hours are from: 10:30am – 1:00am.

They have an extremely wide selection on their menu, which is a mixture of soups, salads, sandwiches, pastas, fajitas, and special plates such as the Taco Salad, Hawaii Pineapple Burger, and Special Columbus Rib-eye, not forgetting their mouth-watering desserts with their specialty; the cheesecake. Prices start at 12.99 L.E for Appetizers, 21.99 L.E for Sandwiches and 29.99 L.E for Pastas. However, bear in mind that no alcohol is served here. Also, breakfast is served from 10:00am – 2:00pm, so why not pop by for a firsthand experience? Then welcome to Columbus; be yourself, we love it!

Homeopathy In Sharm

When you visit the doctor, he will ask you what is wrong. "My foot hurts," you might say, and the doctor will lift the foot and look at it from all angles.
He has seen this before. Within 15 minutes, he will learn all of the details he needs to make a diagnosis. He will write on a pad, hand you a slip of paper, and you will hobble out the door. This is how medicine is done, right?
Why is it then, that for the same complaint, a homeopath will require that you sit in her office for at least an hour? Why will she ask you about your childhood, your dreams, your preferences for food, and so on?
What are these tiny white pills she has recommended you, and why do they have a name that sounds so strange?

Do You Believe In The Evil Eye?

Hello Muriel,

Do you believe in the evil eye?

 Thanks,
Mona

Dear Mona,
I don’t think it is about belief; it is more about respect and acceptance for other people’s beliefs. It is not about my opinion either as opinions become diluted with age.
The ‘Evil Eye’ is believed by many cultures to be able to cause bad luck or injury on the person to whom it is directed.
The concept and significance of it varies widely between cultures, but for me the psychodynamics are of ‘envy.’
It has been mentioned several times in the Bible and is also mentioned in the Koran.
