The Dreams Will Only Die With Me

A dream starts with one clear thought.
(E. MOON)

Do you ever feel your head won’t be quiet? Are a million thoughts racing through your brain telling you, ‘gotta do this, gotta do that, gotta do, gotta do!’ Do you feel your mind is racing, does there seems to be no end to the physical and emotional tasks you are setting yourself? Everything becomes confused; you don’t know where to start to eliminate all the rubbish going around in your head.

Sometimes we get to this stage because we inflict it upon ourselves; sometimes it is inflicted on us by others.
Whatever the reason chaotic thinking prevents us from living in the present.
How can we clear out the chaos from our mind if we don’t know how or why we allow the chaos in?

Collecting brain rubbish becomes a habit, a way of life but not an enhancing way of life.
A lot of it is either anger or unrealistic wishes.
We lose a minute piece of ourselves every time we gossip, bad mouth people behind their back, judge others, and find faults in others. We lose larger pieces of ourselves when we become consumed with jealousy, act on it and suffer the guilt and fear of being caught out.
Bad behaviour is always subject to discovery, because it always involves another human being. It also overloads the brain and prevents good thoughts coming in.

Our problem is, as adults we forget to observe ourselves. Oh yes we are so good at observing and judging others that we forget to take our own negative inventory.
How would you devise a method of avoiding negative thoughts, words or deeds during the course of a normal day?

My suggestion would be (and these are only suggestions) the following:

Avoid saying anything untrue. Better to say nothing than lie. Even if you are lying to protect someone’s feelings, you are still deceiving them. Be kind, criticise with honesty and good judgement, and only when asked for it.
Avoid thinking things you would be frightened to say out loud.
Don’t say something to anyone that you would be ashamed to say to everyone.
Say what you mean and mean what you say. In other words avoid using threats to get your own way.

It takes energy to maintain lies, deceit, grievances, anger and emotional turmoil.
It takes honesty and the knowledge of ‘To Thine Own Self Be True,’ to create inner cleansing, peace, tranquillity and a sense of stillness.
Being truthful is not a gift; it is owning and being responsible for your own ethic of morality. It is being your authentic self. Lying is cheating others and depriving you of your own sense of self, it is demeaning.

Occasionally it is good to take a day off, a day away from brain speak and time to clear out the rubbish. Appreciate the silence and listen to your own heartbeat.
The world we inhabit is audio polluted. Mobile phones, internet, traffic, blaring music, people shouting, they all contribute to your space being constantly invaded.

Most of us have heard the saying, ‘Silence is Golden.’
I am not sure I have ever really understood why silence should be golden. What I do understand within the realms of my own experience, if you do not understand another person’s silence you will not understand their words and you most certainly cannot understand their pain.
We should all be able to master silence, to be able to sit comfortably with another person and not feel threatened by their silence. There will be many times during the period of a life-time when words will be inadequate.

Do you know why, when you return from a holiday, you feel calmer and refreshed?
It is because you are away from the repetition and endurance of daily conflict. However you don’t have to be on a constant holiday to be able to enjoy your own space, but you do have to like and appreciate yourself to insist on having ‘time out’ every now and then.
You might be able to fall in love with another, however surrender to self love first.
You cannot trust another unless you trust yourself.
You need to accept your own behaviour and find it acceptable before you criticise another’s behaviour.
When your head stops reeling, your mind, thoughts and behaviour are under control, life then takes on a different meaning.
You have the time and energy to dream and to make those dreams come true.
It might only be about losing weight. Starting a project you have been meaning to do for the last five years. Reading a certain book or writing a book.
You are the author of your own life story. You don’t have to stick to a rigid belief which might be invalid. If you got away telling a big lie when you were ten years old, think yourself lucky, don’t kid yourself people are fooled when you lie at the age of thirty, they are simply being polite.
Try to spend time with people you admire and inspire you. Try to start off your day with the word ‘kindness’ in your mind. It is the one word which has no age barrier and either giving it or receiving it makes us feel happy.
Age is no barrier to changing your point of view or changing your pattern of thought. Within each of us, we have the power and tenacity to change anything in our lives. When the chaos is pushed out we have the space to see a clear vision of our desired goals.
Realising a dream is acknowledging you have a desire for something possible. Once you harness that you can live deliberately with the intention of shaping your own destiny.

As the wise man once told me:

Any man can have a dream, it takes a strong man to turn the dream into reality.

Do Women Really Believe the Earth is Flat? If they Venture Forth Will they Fall off the Edge?

I do not walk in front of my man to test the ground for landmines.

The ‘F’ word has no place in my vocabulary.
Instead I have a belief in ‘EOG’
Feminism is an outdated adjective.
EOG sounds more like a substance to save the planet doesn’t it? However it is my own personal belief in ‘Equality of Genders.’ There now I have said it.
Feminism has been around since the 18th century. In 1792 May Wollstonecraft published her Vindication on the Rights of Woman, an important work advocating the rights of women.
Mary’s attitude stems from being born the daughter of a brutish, tyrannical father who bullied his wife into an exhausted state of servitude.
My answer to the male gender that retains the belief they can chain a woman’s mind and body is simply, “get a grip.” No one can own or chain a mind, you cannot steal another human being’s thoughts and you cannot strangle a soul.

An Expert's Guide To Bargain Shopping In Cairo

By Soraya Morayef

Anyone who claims that they can’t find bargain shopping in Cairo is delusional. First of all, we Egyptians love a good bargain; we may not have created the concept of sales and discounts, but we very well could have. Just take a look at any discount store around the world (Primark, Dollar Store, Forever 21), and you may find several of us arguing loudly over the Sale of the Day rack.
